Specialized Couples Therapy & Out-of-Network Benefits

Support for couples and individuals navigating relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, and complex life experiences.

Specialized Care & Using Your Out-of-Network Benefits

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, many clients are still able to receive partial reimbursement for sessions using their out-of-network benefits.

If your plan includes these benefits, I can provide you with a superbill, a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Why many clients choose out-of-network care

When it comes to your relationship or emotional well-being, the fit and expertise of your therapist matters deeply.

Working out-of-network allows you to:

  • Choose a therapist who specializes in your needs, rather than selecting from a general directory

  • Work with someone trained in couples therapy and in navigating deeper emotional experiences, including trauma

  • Receive care that is thoughtful, individualized, and not constrained by insurance limitations

  • Focus fully on meaningful, lasting change without restrictions on the pace or direction of your work

Many of the couples and individuals I work with are looking for deep, meaningful change, not just short-term symptom relief.

A different way to think about therapy

Choosing a therapist is not just about coverage; it’s about who you trust to guide you through some of the most important conversations of your life.

For many clients, using out-of-network benefits allows them to invest in specialized, high-quality care while still receiving some financial support from their insurance.

To make this process easier, you can use the calculator below to check your out-of-network benefits.

This allows you to see a personalized estimate of your reimbursement, so you can understand your potential investment before getting started.

What reimbursement can look like

Out-of-network reimbursement varies depending on your specific plan. Many clients find that their insurance reimburses a portion of each session, sometimes reducing the overall cost significantly.

For example, some plans may reimburse anywhere from 40% to 80% of the session fee after a deductible is met.

Because every plan is different, the best way to understand your specific benefits is to use the calculator below.
