FAQ

What issues do you treat?

I help couples with relationship challenges such as work/life family balance, communication, premarital counseling, infidelity, intimacy, and more. I also work with clients with anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. Click here to learn more about me.

What makes your practice unique?

In therapy, we use a client-centered approach and work together to come up with solutions. Therapy is a safe, non-judgmental space where we work together to provide you with the tools and skills you need to overcome challenges. We will use a variety of modalities, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, and more. I tailor therapy to your needs and situation. Don’t expect a one-size-fits-all approach.

Do you provide online therapy?

Yes, I provide both online and in-person therapy. In my office, I work with clients from Montclair, Bloomfield, Clifton, Maplewood, South Orange, Verona, Harrison, and other local neighborhoods. Online therapy is available to all residents of New Jersey.

Where is your office located?

My office is located at 88 Park St, Montclair, NJ 07040. I also provide online therapy so you can choose the type of therapy that best suits you.

Do you take insurance?

Like most therapists, I am considered an “Out-Of-Network” provider, which means I do not accept any insurance directly. Most of my clients utilize their Out-Of-Network benefits with their own insurance plan. Please contact me to learn more about my fees.

If you would like to use your insurance, then I am able to provide you with a monthly receipt called a “Superbill” and you can submit this to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.

How can I calculate my out-of-network benefits?

We have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Use this tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for my services.

What are your hours?

I’m in the office Monday through Wednesday, from 1-8 pm and Saturday morning from 8 am-1 pm.

How long are the sessions?

Sessions are 60 minutes long.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a 24 hour cancellation policy.

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session involves an initial assessment of your relationship from each of your points of view. This allows me to get to learn about you and your relationship. You will also have an opportunity to get to know me and how I work to determine if I’m a good fit for you.

With whom do you work?

I work with couples who are committed to growing their relationship. They may have slipped into a negative pattern of communication which results in repeated conflict or emotional disconnection. I do not work with clients who wish to separate but instead, despite their conflict, are both committed to working on their relationship.

What modalities do you use?

I use a variety of modalities to provide therapy that is tailored to your needs including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment-Based, and more.

How long will it take?

Outcomes will vary. Most couples understand their negative cycles and how they get stuck within the first three months of therapy. Once they identify their negative cycle, they can begin learning new ways of communicating their needs, longings, and fears they have in ways their partner can respond.

Will I have homework?

Because this approach to therapy is “experiential” most of the work and change will come from you having direct conversations with each other in the session.

How often will we need to have a session?

It is recommended that at least for the first 3 months we meet weekly so that we can gain traction in our work together. We can then assess your progress to determine whether to scale back to biweekly or remain weekly.
